RED SALSA RECIPES
BRENDA'S ROMO-LICIOUS RED SALSA
1 16 oz Can Whole Tomatoes
4 Jalapeno peppers
1/4 cup of Cilantro
2 cloves of fresh garlic
Salt (to taste)
Place jalapeno peppers in a small saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Boil until jalapeno peppers are tender. Remove the jalapeno peppers from the water. In a blender, place the ingredients in this order: (1) Jalapeno peppers and garlic, (2)whole tomatoes, (3) cilantro and (4) salt. Blend for 3 seconds or 3 quick pulses. Place in salsa bowl and eat (preferably with chips, not your fingers). Mix in more salt, if needed.
Tip: Add more jalapeno peppers to make the salsa spicier
JUANITA'S HAIL MARY RED SALSA
2 cans of tomato sauce
3 cloves of fresh garlic
6-8 Chiles de Arbol* (depending how spicy you want the salsa)
Salt (to taste)
2-4 green onions, finely chopped (optional)
1/4 cup cilantro (optional)
Place all ingredients in blender and blend until everything is, uhm, blended
*You can find Chile de Arbol in most Hispanic/Latin type supermarkets (most cities have them)
